This Privacy Policy explains how ConfidAI ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the ConfidAI mobile application ("App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials.
- Learning profile: Your selected language and proficiency level (e.g., CEFR level).
- Voice conversations: When you start a conversation session, your voice audio is transmitted in real time to our AI service for processing. We do not store raw audio recordings. Transcripts of your conversations (text) are stored so you can review your session history.
- Feedback: If you submit feedback through the App, we collect the content you provide.
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: We track conversation session duration, daily usage, and usage allowance consumption to enforce tier limits and maintain your usage streak.
- Analytics events: We collect anonymized interaction data such as which features you use. We use Mixpanel for analytics, with data processed on servers in the European Union.
- Subscription data: Your subscription status and tier are managed through RevenueCat and Apple's App Store. We receive your subscription status but do not have access to your payment details — Apple handles all payment processing.
- Device and technical data: Standard technical information such as device type, operating system version, and app version may be collected for diagnostics and compatibility purposes.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not store raw audio recordings of your voice.
- We do not collect precise location data.
- We do not collect contacts, photos, or other personal files from your device.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the App, including AI conversation sessions.
- Store your conversation transcripts so you can review past sessions.
- Track your learning progress, including streaks and proficiency level.
- Enforce usage limits based on your subscription tier.
- Improve the App through aggregated, anonymized analytics.
- Respond to your feedback and support requests.
- Detect and prevent abuse or misuse of the service.
3. AI Processing
Your voice input is transmitted in real time to third-party AI services to generate responses during conversation sessions. This processing occurs in real time and is necessary to provide the core functionality of the App. The AI services we use may process your input to generate a response, but we do not authorize these providers to use your data for training their models. Transcripts of conversations are stored in our database so you can access your session history.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Your account data, learning profile, session transcripts, and usage data are stored in Supabase, a cloud database platform with servers in the European Union.
- We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.
- No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following categories of service providers, solely to operate the App:

6. Data Retention
- Account data and learning profile: Retained for as long as your account is active.
- Session transcripts: Retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual sessions from your session history within the App.
- Analytics data: Retained in anonymized/aggregated form.
- Upon account deletion: When you delete your account, we delete your personal data, including your learning profile, session transcripts, and usage records. Anonymized analytics data that cannot be linked back to you may be retained.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate personal data.
- Delete your account and associated data (available in the App under Settings).
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.

8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@confid.ai.
9. International Data Transfers
Your data is primarily stored and processed in the European Union. If data is transferred outside the EU (e.g., to AI model providers), we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App or at confid.ai/privacy. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
